Well tomorrow is Valentine's Day and I am still sitting here thinking about what I am going to get Ben. First of all I have little to money. It seems kind of stupid to ask him for money and then go get him a gift with his own money. Another issue is What the hell do you get a man for Valentine's Day?? I mean whoever thought up this holiday must have been a woman. I think woman benefit more from this little holiday we call Valentine's. Hey I'm not complaining lol...But it leaves me stumped on what he heck to get him. Ok what do we ladies usually get?? Well there are chocolates, flowers, balloons. stuffed bears, a nice diamond ring :)...... all this we ladies love! Picture me coming home with a box of chocolates, a lil stuff, some balloons and flowers and handing them over to Ben. I think he'll look at me wondering if I just lost my damn mind lol....
I was thinking of going to Build a Bear workshop and making a bear specially for him. I think its a very cute idea. But!! would he enjoy it? I mean really what is he going to do with a bear and where is he going to put it?? In the closet... so what's the sense of getting him one? Usually when he gives me a stuffed bear I would put it on my bed or my sofa, but picture him doing this.
Imagine someone coming over , seeing the bear and ask Awwww Who's Bear?? Am I really going to say "Uhhh Well that is Ben's Bear... Sounds a little too fruity for me lol......So what to do?? Any ideas??..What do you ladies give that special man in your life???
Every year I go through this and every year I end up getting him the same thing.... A card...but this year needs to be different. Any advice?
Well enough of that.... We are expecting some snow out here. Supposedly they are forecasting a big snow storm. They are expecting 4-8 inches.... Wow what a storm lol.... I know other who have had over 12-20 inches. New Yorkers tend to make a big deal over anything.
Do any of you watch All my Children..... It is getting so good. A couple of years ago I stopped watching because it got so boring but lately it has been addicting. A lot of drama going on!!
My birthday is on Friday.... Ben said he wants to take me to Ihop for breakfast. Sounds good to me .. I love Ihop!! I am going to be 29. OMG.... I don't want to turn 30.... Once I'm out of the 20's I feel I am getting old lol..Its kind of depressing. Why did I rush getting older ..What I wouldn't give to be 10 yrs old again :)
I found this poem, thought I would share....
A Valentine is like nothing......
A valentine is like nothing
A chocolate or a rose.
For in a week these shall be gone ,
But Valnetine's remain.
If love were always sweet to tongue
Or fragrant to the nose,
Each day would be like Valentine's
And we would go insane.
A Valentine just hangs around ,
Waiting to be kissed,
Long after special days have passed,
And every days are here.
So one is wise to choose one well,
And chocolates to resist,
For in the midst of mania
It's mice to have one near.

Thank you Terry for the Tag!
Enjoy the poem.....
That's it for now... I will be back later with another entry..... Hope I didn't bore anyone too much lol, but I did this entry for me :)

My other half is a manly man ie wont wear pastels, doesn't show emotion (except at football matches) and won't watch slushy films but he still went mushy the year I had a single red rose delivered to him. Other than that how about a ticket to his favourite sporting event or yourself cover in something nice (strawberries and cream work nicely). Have fun and by the way 30 isn't old, did no-one ever tell you life begins at 40! Have fun whatever you do.
Love

Wow I wish I were turning 29 again! LOL!
Lets see....Valentine's Day.....you could make him a coupon book and put coupons in it for back rubs, special dinner, or anything you want <wink>. Men in my life have always enjoyed that! You could buy him candy and a movie he likes. Make him a special dinner. Buy a bottle of champagne or wine if you drink and include that in dinner.
Just a few ideas that aren't too expensive.
Let us know what you do.
Pam
It was so funny and cute when you were talking about the bear. For what I have seen in ben these past year you are right, his expression, or comment on a bear would be hilarious. Of course he will be greatful, but he would be a bear I am not a girl, but hey you never know maybe he would enjoy it and cherish the bear.
I must admit with my ex fiance, on valentines I had got him this very cute bear from when I worked in Hallmark. It was a white bear with little red hearts all over his body and it was fussy. I don't remember what else I got him, but he loved the bear, and yes he kept on his bed, I saw it there and it was adorable. I also once got him a chichi chia, the animals that grow plants............lol, he didn't have a green thumb because it died but he tried, and when I would see it on his window I thought it was so cute. He would alway value what I got him and love it. Never did he say it isn't for a guy.
I loved that about him and I wish many men were like that too. Our mens now are to picky. My husband last year I got hima guess watch because he needed one, but it was a bit expensive, and you said you don't want to spend much. Don't worry I didn't get him anything this year.
I also always thought Valentines were for women and I don't know why now we are responsoble of getting them something too. This holiday I believe is only for woman, putting up with there shit. We should be the only ones getting pampered. Oh well let me go talk to you soon. byebye
